  1. I thought this article on the financial issue with web 2.0 was interesting though the article is from january. It introduces sarcastically the idea of web 3.0

  2. Check out this cool croud-sourcing GPS application. It is completely free (though they offer a paid service for more features) and the data is largely provided through users. People sync information about cell towers and wifi access points to the server to earn points that can translate to prizes (or even a free copy of the premium version).

    Here is their website.

Here are some examples of the way the service works.

  4. Tochinot! Look up! Imagination! This Japanese man with awesome hair and a tight shiny black shirt charms his way through this presentation at TechCrunch. If you watch the Q&A at the end, notice Tim O'Reilly calling bullshit. Great concept though.

  7. please look into downloading and even buying this software called JING.

it essentially is a version of your screenshot abilities on a mac, but allows you to take videos too. this has come in handy when creating my presentation (so i can get around using flash to animate). pretty interesting regardless. pro is only 14.95 a year, and worth the money to alleviate the issues that come with the free trial.

    it is free upfront though!

  12. This is pretty simple, but I saw it last year and liked how it worked. (Apparently a lot of other people did too, the owner posts in his blog a lot about people ripping off his idea.) A horizontal scroll site done without any flash-- but with a nice smooth pan, and some cool graphic transitions.

  17. Anyone interested in using Java Script accordions in their websites, check out Accordion v2.0. The free download includes code, how to create vertical and horizontal accordions, nest accordions within accordions, and customize them.
